In the beginning of the 80-ies the Armenian television produced about 200 TV performances, documentary and feature films, literature-music programs. The 9th All-Union Festival of TV films was opened on October 13, 1981 in the Al. Spendiaryan's State Opera and Ballet Academic Theatre. Filmmakers from all of the Soviet Union Republics arrived to Yerevan. Armenian television showed all the films presented during the 10 days of the festival. The film, presented by Armenia, "Dzori Miro", was awarded the prize of the Festival, while the music award went to "The song returns" film presented by Armenian filmmakers.

In October 1981 the festival named "The man and the sea" took place in Riga; the prize-winner of the festival was "Water" by "Yerevan" studio.

On April 4, 1981, the TV film department of the TV programs office started a program series named "The masters of world cinema". The program presented the best movies, provided comments and analysis of the roles and scenarios. Already starting June 7, 1985 the program was presented weekly, and was named "The meeting". The masterpieces of the world cinema were shown, meetings were organized with the cinema critics and actors.

-Zaruhi Dolukhanyan had arrived to Yerevan. In our funds we did not have any of her recordings or songs. Naturally, we had to use her visit to Yerevan. They said, she was rather a capricious personality and always refuses to perform on the TV. She was a close friend from childhood with artist Khachik Yesayan. I found the artist, he promised to help. A day later, Khachik called and informed that "the issue has been solved; he will bring the singer and the accompanist to the studio,"- Mark Petrosyan, the music director tells.

- The recording started. Experienced director Martin Avetisyan filmed delicately, with taste, by using correct TV plans. Zaruhi sand the program without a pause, without additional takes and a wonderful chamber concert was recorded. At the end, she wished to see the recording. Without watching even half of it, Dolukhanyan stood up angrily.

-You shall not show it, it is very bad, Khachik, - she told her friend, the artist, - I ask you, please follow up, that they delete the recording, do not show it, otherwise, I will communicate with the authorities. Don't you see? The wrinkles on my face when they show it closely.

We were silent, did not know what to say. Seeing us lost, she concluded a bit later.

- I told you, I do not like TV, there are close plans. From the stage, nothing is noticeable, and I am not young for a long time now.

So, those fine performances were not presented to our audience and the tape was destructed by dust after some time and became unusable.
